Marlins Slap 5-1 Loss on New York
|
The Miami Marlins defeated the New York Mets, 5-1. Doing his part was first baseman Mike Bates, who was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. By defeating New York, the last-place Marlins improved to 66-88.
Los Angeles, California native Mike Bates had a clutch at-bat in the top of the sixth for the Marlins. With Miami trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Bates told the Miami Gazette.
