Phillies Come Up Short at New York, 3-2
|
New York pitcher Apostolos Tsatsos did his part in helping his team beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Robbie Beerbower was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 22 save opportunities. New York now has a 3-game win streak.
Early in the game, left fielder Roy Steigerwald had a 2-run home run for New York. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Mets on top, 2-1.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said New York skipper Nakashi Mets.
