The 8-0 Pittsburgh win over Cincinnati was due in large part to Bobby Martinez. The Pirates first baseman belted 3 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring three times. Cincinnati has now lost 6 straight.

Martinez had a key at-bat for Pittsburgh early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 27th home run of the season and gave Pittsburgh an early 3-0 lead.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Martinez told the Pittsburgh Bulletin.
