White Sox Triumph, 8-5, in 14 Innings
The Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds put on quite a show.

The Chicago White Sox weathered a fine game by Cincinnati shortstop Tony Casas to upend the Reds, 8-5, at Great American Ball Park. Casas went 4-6 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win belongs to Steven Wolf in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Giovonni Morgia took the loss for Cincinnati.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Carey Horncole came to bat in the top of the 14th. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Giovonni Morgia, he hit a 0-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 6-5.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said White Sox manager Jake Turnbull.

The last-place Reds have lost 4 consecutive games.
