Yankees Upend Orioles, 8-6
|
The New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles, 8-6, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Gus Berry, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was Aldo Questi, who threw 88 pitches over 5.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 6 runs on 7 hits. At 3-1, the Yankees have played well so far.
Jared Zulkowski, the 25-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Zulkowski contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put New York up, 5-4.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Berry. "And vice-versa."
