Blue Jays Collect 2-1 Win Over Royals
|
The Kansas City Royals got a superb performance from pitcher Vince Scripp, but the Toronto Blue Jays still won the game, 2-1. Scripp threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. Kansas City drops to 14-8.
The Blue Jays procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Klaas Meij. In the bottom of the 20th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Max Meany, the Toronto skipper. "This one tested us."
