BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM! 4 HR for Barutha
Sunday, August 17th , 2053
Hitting a single home run is a tough task. Hitting two in a game is impressive. Hitting three is remarkable. Anything beyond that is borderline unbelievable -- yet that's what Pete Barutha did today in the 12-0 Rochester Red Wings victory over the Toledo Mud Hens.
Barutha went 4-for-6 with 4 home runs and drove in 8 runs in a once-in-a-lifetime feat that the opposing manager later labeled "impossible."
"I don't believe it really happened," Mud Hens manager Cody Wallace joked to BNN reporters afterward. "I don't ever enjoy losing a game, but this kid was special today. I have never seen a guy hit 4 in a game before. I didn't enjoy it, but it was special."
Pete Barutha flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Justin Jones in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Justin Jones in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Juan Cornejo in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Ben Saunders in the 9th.
This season, Barutha has hit at a .230 clip with 55 RBIs, 19 home runs and 59 runs scored. He has played in 97 games.
