The future looks extremely bright for Stewart Walker. At the age of 21, many players are still trying to find their way in International League.

Walker has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the National League Most Valuable Player Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .351 this year, that's for sure," the shortstop said.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs star also put up a .419 on-base percentage this year, with 190 hits, 44 doubles, 11 triples, 21 home runs, 84 RBIs and 96 runs scored.

He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 30. Gabe Guillermo of the Las Vegas 51s finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Pavla Markianov of the Louisville Bats finished third.
