Going, Going, Gone! Pena Hits 3 Homers Saturday, June 1st , 2052 Matt Pena was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 14-1 Princeton Rays triumph at Baseball City Complex today. The 21-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Rays past the Baltimore (APP) Orioles. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Pena told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The designated hitter went 4-for-6, rung up 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Matt Pena hit a two-run home run off Eric McCloud in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eric McCloud in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chris Gates in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This season Pena has banged out 35 hits in 112 at-bats for a .312 average with 10 home runs. He is getting on base at a .376 pace and his totals also include 30 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
