Rangers Romero and Expos Hsu Suspended for Fight Tuesday, May 21st , 2052 Yesterday at Globe Life Park in Arlington Luis Romero and Cheng-ho Hsu got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Texas Rangers and Montreal Expos. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Romero will have to sit out 4 while Hsu would be given a 2-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year Romero is hitting .220 with no home runs and 4 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .385 clip and scored 8 runs. This season Hsu has accumulated 2 saves, registered a 3.09 ERA and struck out 34 in 35 innings. He also has a 2-1 record in 25 relief appearances. |
