Ruben Velasco Jr. Winner in May Saturday, June 1st , 2052 When Ruben Velasco Jr. stepped up to the plate in May he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the American League Batter of the Month award. The young Chicago right fielder posted a .361 batting average with 14 home runs, 33 RBIs and scored 28 runs. Velasco Jr. also worked pitchers for 14 walks to post a .446 on-base percentage. In the current season, Velasco Jr. has put up a .333 batting average with 62 hits, 22 home runs, 60 runs batted in and scored 41 runs. |
