Clayton Spins No-Hitter
Sunday, June 27th , 2032
Chris Clayton was just plain nasty on the mound, overpowering the Peoria Chiefs in a complete game no-hitter.
The right-hander used his signature cutter to perfection as the Fort Wayne TinCaps waltzed to an easy 9-0 win.
"He was what the kids call 'filthy,'" losing manager said later.
In a dominant performance, Clayton faced 31 batters in all and finished the game with 11 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"After the first couple of innings, I knew I had some good stuff going," Clayton said. "In the bullpen, it really wasn't that good, to be honest. But when I got out on the mound and flipped the switch, I had some pretty good stuff."
This season, Clayton has a 3-3 record with a 1.49 ERA in 6 starts.
