The California Lions and Idaho Spuds put on quite a show.

The California Lions overcame a good performance by Idaho first baseman Mike Poe to knock off Idaho, 6-5, at Spuds Park. Poe hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The winner in relief was Félix García. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-2. Esteban Encarnación was credited with the save, his 29th in 33 tries.

Jack Jenkins had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It helped send California to the win.

"It was a test of wills," said , the California skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."

California is now 64-38, 6 games up in the Great Explorers League Pacific.
