Wolves Make It 5 Straight with 3-2 Win
|
Minnesota rode a good effort from starter Ryan Cote to beat the Michigan Militia at New Michigan Field. The final score was 3-2. Cote got the win, improving to 10-6. He allowed 5 hits and walked 4 over 6.2 innings. Cote allowed 2 runs. Franklin Connor recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 1 for 1.
Minnesota relied on the hitting of Aubrey Thompson to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Wolves on top, 3-2. For the game, Thompson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Minnesota skipper Aleksi Sopanen. "I can't complain."
The Wolves, at 69-38, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.
