Shay Twirls a Gem for Louisiana
|
The Louisiana Blaze got a magnificent effort from pitcher Wu-Tang Shay, who kept Idaho hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Blaze win at Spuds Park. Earning his 23rd save of the year was Nelson Jackson. Louisiana goes to 58-50, Idaho to 53-55.
Shay, who was born in Savannah, Georgia, threw 109 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Shay told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
