Cashmore Impressive in California Win
|
Rex Cashmore was in top form in a low-scoring contest between California and Washington. The Lions right-hander helped his team beat the Griffins, 2-1. Esteban Encarnación recorded the save, making him 32 for 36. California leads the Great Explorers League Pacific by 4½ games.
Cashmore, the winner, is now 4-1 after putting the clamps on the Washington offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 2 hits, while collecting 7 Ks.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Cashmore told the California Bulletin. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
