Win Lifts Griffins to 7-6
|
Nevada got a valiant performance from pitcher Sergio Vargas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Washington Griffins. Washington won the game, 2-1. Vargas threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Cole Sloane, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. Nevada, at 2-11, is off to a dreadful start in 2098.
Burt Session, the 30-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Session contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Washington up, 2-1.
"What we get, we earn," Session told the Washington Daily News.
