In a tight game between the Utah Scorpions and the Minnesota Wolves, pitcher Dave Gómez was terrific on the mound. The Utah right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. The winner was Dana Williamson in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Francisco Cruz took the loss. Earning his 27th save for Utah was Francisco Guzmán.

Utah took a 2-1 lead on George Blankenship's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Minnesota pitcher Francisco Cruz in the bottom of the eighth.

"We were in it," said Minnesota manager Aleksi Sopanen. "We just didn't score enough runs."

Utah improves to 71-54 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.
