The Washington Griffins got a stellar performance from pitcher Carlos Negrón, who handcuffed the Nevada offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Sunset Stadium. Sixto Peña was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 26 save opportunities. The win has Washington at 52-77.

Washington took a 5-2 lead on José Falinas's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Nevada pitcher Reginald McGrath in the bottom of the eighth.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Falinas said.
