Fernando González made an impact in the 2-1 New Jersey win over Louisiana. González, who is tied for 2nd in the FFL with a 3 complete games, threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. In 7.1 innings, González surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Roberto Pérez Jr. got the save, his 20th in 25 chances.
The Bears got a big at-bat from right fielder Armando Valdéz. For the game, Valdéz was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave New Jersey a 2-0 lead.
