Alabama Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Georgia Generals got a superb performance from pitcher Chandler Thomas. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Alabama. The Iron won the game, 5-3. Thomas threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Alabama reliever Jesús Pérez picked up the win to move to 4-4. Juan León suffered the loss. The second-place Iron lifted their record to 85-76.
Alabama won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With one out and Juan León on the mound for Georgia, shortstop Mario López hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Iron fans to their feet.
"This place was electric at the end," López said.
