Pugh Shines in 5-1 Idaho Win
The Idaho Spuds stopped the Washington Griffins, 5-1, at Spuds Park. The Spuds got a big game from Christian Pugh, who went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Romeu Ashton, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Carlos Acosta earned the save for Idaho, his 5th.

The Spuds got a big at-bat from center fielder Salvador Alcorta, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Spuds on top, 3-1.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Washington manager Larry Gomberg.

Idaho, with the win, is 12-5.
