A good performance from first baseman Carlos Gómez helped the Maryland Admirals defeat the Pennsylvania Freedom, 6-3. Gómez was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Admirals. Tom Perkins earned the win to go to 4-0. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Luis Sandoval recorded the save for Maryland, his 15th of the season.

Gómez had a timely hit for Maryland in the bottom of the sixth. With Pennsylvania trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-0 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Maryland.
