Michigan Militia starter Norman Smith hurled his team past the Illinois Jethawks, 2-1. Castel De La Hoya was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 22 save opportunities. At 34-35, the Militia find themselves in last place in the Great Explorers League Central.

The Militia got a big hit from center fielder Vicente Gómez. In the bottom of the sixth, Gómez pounded a run-scoring double to center. His 18th double of the season put the Militia ahead, 1-0.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Gómez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
