Scorpions Need Extra Frames to Get Past Griffins
Fans watched the Utah Scorpions and the Washington Griffins fight to the finish.

The Utah Scorpions eked out a 3-2 win versus the Washington Griffins at Sunset Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Castro. He was terrific. Utah pitcher Rafael Ortíz got the win. He's now 1-0. Dusty Brooks was tagged with the loss.

Germano Aniceto delivered a solo home run for Utah in the top of the 15th. The first baseman went 3 for 7 in the game, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Aniceto. "Just do my job."

Washington falls to 2-6.
