|
Maryland Admirals starter Devin Smythe hurled his team past the Massachusetts Patriots, 2-1. Smythe got the win, improving to 7-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Smythe allowed 1 run. Luis Sandoval converted his 31st save in 32 tries.
Manny Cruz, who leads the FFL with a .584 slugging percentage, aided the Maryland cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
Cruz told a Maryland Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
