The California Lions tallied a win at King Coliseum, throttling the Illinois Jethawks, 3-1. Starting pitcher Andrew Yoder was a big reason for his team's success. Yoder went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-3. Félix García got credit for the save for California. It was his 4th of the year.

The Lions got a big at-bat from third baseman Chris O'Mullarhy. For the game, O'Mullarhy went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season gave California a 2-1 lead.
