The Quebec Citadelles took Louisiana pitcher Rod Rockingham's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pelican Park. The final score had Quebec getting past the Blaze, 3-2. Rockingham went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Bill Scott got the win, improving to 11-10. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 3. Quebec now has a record of 85-78 with the win.
The result might have been different for Quebec, had it not been for Rick Robinson, the 32-year old center fielder . Robinson stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Quebec up, 3-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Robinson told the Quebec Daily News.
