Scorpions Clip Spuds 2-1 in WCS Contest
|
The Utah Scorpions defeated the Idaho Spuds, 2-1 in Game 4 of the Wildcard Series today. Doing his part was starter José Barajas, who threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win moves Utah into a 2-2 tie with Idaho in the series.
Utah used the timely hitting of Claudio Martínez to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scorpions on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Martínez.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Spuds Park in Boise.
