Massachusetts Tops Alabama Again, 6-2
|
Riding the 4-hit performance of third baseman Fernando Martínez, the Massachusetts Patriots stopped the visiting Alabama Iron, 6-2, in Game 2 of the Wildcard Series today. Martínez went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Patriots, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Harvey Madden aided the Massachusetts cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 5 with a double.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Martínez.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 17th , 2098 at Bo Jackson Ballpark in Bessemer.
