Meeks Blasts Admirals, Generals Take Game 6, 6-3
|
The Georgia Generals and the Maryland Admirals will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Generals beat the Admirals 6-3 at Matthews Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Georgia third baseman Earl Meeks was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Meeks had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the first for the Generals. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Georgia trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
"We did a lot of things right," said Meeks.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Matthews Field in Athens-Clarke County.
