Bluefish Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Freedom, 4-3
|
The Florida Bluefish scored a tight 4-3 win versus the Pennsylvania Freedom at Historic Ironside Field. Florida pitcher Raleigh Brown held his own in the contest. In 7 innings, Brown surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Florida bumps their record to 43-38 with the win.
Florida used a clutch hit from Santiago Cervantes to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bluefish ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
Cervantes attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
