The Alabama Iron took Louisiana pitcher Desmond Lee's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Bo Jackson Ballpark. The final score had Alabama getting past the Blaze, 2-1. Lee went 8 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 10. Alabama now has a 3-game win streak.

The Iron procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Mike Sims. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.

In postgame comments, Sims told the Alabama Observer: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
