Howard Lays Hammer Down in 9-1 Win
The Utah Scorpions got a stellar performance from pitcher John Howard, who handcuffed the Minnesota offense en route to a win, 9-1, at Great Western Ballpark. With the win over Minnesota, the Scorpions improved to 53-39.

Howard, the winner, is now 8-4 after putting the clamps on the Minnesota offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 5 hits, while collecting 10 Ks.

Scorpions manager Brett Williams had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
