Martínez Bombs 3 HR Against New Jersey Thursday, June 19th , 2098 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the New Jersey Bears today. Massachusetts third baseman Fernando Martínez tripled up on the home runs to propel the Patriots to the 10-0 win at Glory Field. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," New Jersey manager said. "Martínez hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Martínez collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Fernando Martínez hit a solo-shot off Fernando González in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Fernando González in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Bobby Wilson in the 8th.
