Roy Boyd Hits #500 Wednesday, September 10th , 2098 Back-back-back-gone! Roy Boyd hit his 500th home run tonight against the Washington Griffins. Boyd, of the Pennsylvania Freedom, smiled as he rounded all the bases and got mobbed by his teammates at home plate. The game did stop momentarily as the Freedom celebrated this accomplishment. "I was swinging for the fences and the pitch looked like a giant grape fruit," Boyd said. "This is another check off my bucket list. I'll now be setting my sights the next milestone." The Freedom left fielder went 3 for 4 with 1 home run and 1 run batted in as the Pennsylvania Freedom won 8-0 over the Washington Griffins. Boyd has played in 2112 games and posted a lifetime .292 average. He has 2273 hits, 405 doubles, 69 triples and 500 homers. In addition he has driven in 1231 runs and scored 1111 times.
