Tuscaloosa Blanks Augusta, Cook Winner
Saturday, August 2nd , 2098
Larry Cook was in a mood to talk following the Tuscaloosa Steel Acorns contest against the Augusta Clooneys, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Clooneys, 6-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Cook said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Augusta on a 5-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 6 strikeouts.
This year Cook has a 12-8 record with a 2.20 ERA in 22 starts.
