TL's Premier Player for 2098 Named

Ricardo Martínez took Rigs Rookie League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 22.
For his spectacular campaign, the Austin Mudcats star has been named the 2098 Texas League Hitter of the Year recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the catcher.
On the season he compiled a .306 batting average to go with a .443 on-base percentage. The native of Maracaibo, Venezuela also added 28 doubles, 1 triple, 14 home runs, 78 RBIs and 55 runs scored.
He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jeff Hankins of the Midland Bombers finished second in voting, while Salvador Jiménez of the Corpus Christi Pit Bulls finished third.
