Manuel Ruíz was masterful in helping the Florida Bluefish take down the Alabama Iron, 4-1. Ruíz, now 11-5, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The Bluefish raised their record to 67-94.
Jorge Marinello, the 12th overall pick in the 2094 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Marinello contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Florida up, 3-1.
