Florida 7-3 Victors at Pelican Park
|
The Florida Bluefish picked up a win at Pelican Park, dropping the Louisiana Blaze, 7-3. Mario Castro, who leads the FFL in strikeouts with 61, was the difference-maker. The winning pitcher was Castro, now 5-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 12. The second-place Bluefish hiked their record to 21-22.
Florida won the game in part because of Leland O'Gallwan. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bluefish ahead, 4-1. For the game, O'Gallwan had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"I really like what we did out there today," O'Gallwan said after the game.
