Spuds Topple Hounds, 12-4, as Ibáñez Shines
|
The Idaho Spuds defeated the Tennessee Hounds by the score of 12-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Carlos Ibáñez. Ibáñez went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the Spuds on the day. Picking up the win was Millard Lynch. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The left--hander struck out 6 and walked 1. The Spuds are now 27-32, while the Hounds fall to 30-27.
The game turned with one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Ibáñez hit a run-scoring double off Andy Dixon. It propelled the Spuds into the lead, 2-1.
"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Spuds manager Jason Dettbarn.
