The Tennessee Hounds withstood an impressive performance by New Jersey third baseman Ramiro Valéncia to defeat the Bears, 9-8, at Pinson Stadium. Valéncia went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Francisco Campos. He is now 4-3. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2 innings. The triumph puts Tennessee at 37-34 for the season.

The Hounds were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 28-year old shortstop Juan Souza landed a big blow. He turned a 1-1 slider from Stephen Anderson into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Pinson Stadium denizens into a frenzy and sent the Hounds home with a thrilling 9-8 win.

"Very good win for our guys," said Souza.
