Bears Earn 7-3 Home Win
|
The New Jersey Bears started the 2104 season win an impressive 7-3 win against the Nevada Jacks at Bear Den at Waterfront Park. Jeff Mendoza, the 4th overall pick in the 2095 draft, led the way for New Jersey.
Jesús Carranza went 1 for 3 with a double for New Jersey. The 25-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Camp. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Mendoza said.
