The performance of Greg Kelly proved critical in helping Maryland beat Massachusetts, 5-2. The Admirals first baseman was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Patrick Rhodes picked up his 18th save of the season. Maryland is second in the Founding Fathers League Northeast with a record of 44-30.

Kelly contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Maryland in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Kelly took a slider from Javier Silva and stroked the home run to left. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Admirals to leap in front, 2-1.

Maryland manager Andrew Cole was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
