Braves Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Atlanta Braves took Cleveland pitcher Chris Sayers's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Truist Park. The final score had Atlanta getting past the Guardians, 3-2. Sayers went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. Atlanta reliever Victor Arano picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Clayton Beeter shouldered the loss.
Atlanta won the game in the bottom of the 15th inning. With two outs and Clayton Beeter on the mound for Cleveland, first baseman Josh Bauer hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Braves fans to their feet.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Bauer, "and then get after it again."
The win elevated the Braves to 29-24.
