Blue Jays Deal Reds 5-4 Defeat
|
Despite a great performance by Cincinnati center fielder Tony Rivera, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Reds by the score of 5-4 at Great American Ball Park. Rivera was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Matt Allan picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-1. He struck out 2 in 5 innings. Toronto now owns a record of 26-28.
Toronto relied on the hitting of Dante Adamson to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0. For the game, Adamson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Adamson told a Toronto Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
