Rangers Lose at Home, 6-1, to Oakland
|
The Oakland Athletics earned a win at Globe Life Field, stopping the Texas Rangers, 6-1. Starting pitcher Curt Hostetter played a big role in his team's success. Hostetter picked up the win for Oakland, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Chris Honeycutt picked up the save, his 3rd.
Oakland used the clutch hitting of Eddie Burton to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Athletics the lead, 2-0. For the game, Burton had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Burton told the Oakland Today.
The Athletics go to 31-23, putting them first in the American League West Division.
