The Chicago White Sox got a stellar performance from pitcher Sandy Alcantara, who handcuffed the Cleveland offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Guaranteed Rate Field. Alcantara got the win, improving to 14-13. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Alcantara allowed 1 run. Hunter Schryver was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
Joe Ketola helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the third baseman went 2-3 with a double.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Alcantara said.
Chicago now has a record of 79-78 with the win.
