Red Sox Top Rockies, 6-4
|
Getting offensive support from Xander Bogaerts, the Boston Red Sox topped the Colorado Rockies, 6-4. Bogaerts was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Red Sox. Angel Gonzalez Martinez snagged the win in relief. In 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 3-2 on the season. Boston is third in the American League East Division with a record of 32-31.
Boston won the game in the bottom of the 15th inning. With one out and Amai Schwartz on the mound for Colorado, designated hitter Anthony Garcia hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Red Sox fans to their feet.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bogaerts said.
