Yankees Earn 5-4 Win Versus Angels
|
Spencer Torkelson left his imprint on the 5-4 New York win against the Los Angeles Angels. Torkelson, who is tied for 10th in the AL in extra base hits with 31, was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. New York reliever Bobby Strange was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Ian Mann. At 34-46, the Yankees claim last place in the American League East Division.
Jeremy Choate was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Yankees second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Torkelson said.
