Orioles Best Guardians in Pitching Duel
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Progressive Field, courtesy of Dan Kerber. The left-hander helped his team stop the Cleveland Guardians, 2-0. Kerber, now 10-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no runs. With the win, the Orioles have a record of 55-28.
Baltimore used a well-timed hit by Ben Hopkins to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hopkins told the Baltimore Daily.
